DGL220 Double-Mitre Saw – Clamping System for Insect Screen Profiles

Cutting machines for PVC Aluminum and Wood profiles

A specially developed clamping system is used on the RAPID double-miter saws for cutting insect screen profiles. A combination of profile-specific counter-profiles and pressure pads ensures the profiles are perfectly positioned within the saw. Profile parameters and corresponding colors are stored in the extensive profile database.

A profile height measuring system is used to compensate for height variations that can occur due to coatings. Each profile is clamped and measured prior to cutting. If the profile height deviates from the stored parameters, the position is adjusted accordingly for minor differences. In the event of significant deviations, the control system alerts the operator—as the profile could be the wrong one.

Profile height monitoring thus not only enhances precision and cut quality but also minimizes the error rate—a valuable addition to the production of custom-made insect screen frames.

Our recommendation for insect screen production is the highly flexible DGL220 double-miter saw, featuring 3-axis control and automatic, continuous angle adjustment from 20° to 135° with an angular resolution of 0.01°.

For those just starting out in metal construction and insect screen manufacturing, the DGS200 and DGL200M manual double-miter saws for aluminum are excellent options. Our versatile digital length display enhances ease of use and boosts productivity by automatically factoring in both the 45° miter angle and the stop position for short parts when calculating the length.
