90 years RAPID

Rapid looks back on a 90-year history, which is characterized by a lot of success but also by overcoming difficulties. The existence of a company over 90 years is a remarkable achievement in today's fast-paced world and speaks for the absolute will to always be at the forefront.

The corona pandemic overshadows the round anniversary this year. The busy winter of 2020 was followed by the postponement of the leading trade fair for window industry Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg and a lengthy ban on contacts, which gradually spread across all continents.

Despite the restrictions, all ordered Rapid machines are assembled and delivered on time. The whole team sticks together - of course with a distance of 2 meters and a lot of humor.

The rise from a simple workshop to one of the leading suppliers of saws of all kinds in window and metal construction has always been determined by the willingness to follow innovative ideas. For many years, the wooden window manufacturers were the main customers. With the invention of the world's first double miter saw in 1967, the Swabian saw specialist also succeeded in entering modern plastic and aluminum window industrie.

In 1981, the development of a profile machining center marked an important step in the automation of window and door production. Five years later, the first Rapid sawing center for PVC and aluminum profiles went into operation. The combination of functionally separate cutting and processing modules remains the basic principle of Rapid automatic production systems.

Some innovations should be presented at the Frontale in Nuremberg in 2020. The new high-tech control PCE6000 for RAPID double miter saws enables automatic sawing time management, cutting optimization according to different criteria, feedback about material consumption, measurement transmission by radio and much more. The new generation of highly efficient GLX-250-RLA glazing bead saws from RAPID Maschinenbau continues the automation trend in glazing bead cutting and offers - with a combination of automatic length positioning, automatic saw feed and automatic glass simulation - advanced functions for Industry 4.0 in addition to the highest efficiency.
